How to sync a Gmail account with Waalaxy?

If you’re reading this article, you’ve probably just landed in a new Waalaxy. 😜🌎

And any uncharted Waalaxy can give a little bit of trouble.

Especially when creating a radio connection with Gmail.

No worries, our team of super Waalaxian people are here to help. 👽

Why should you synchronize Waalaxy with Gmail?

By setting up SMTP sync with Gmail, Waalaxy is going to be able to send emails to your prospects on your behalf, at no extra cost.

You will be able to establish contact via email, with prospects connected on LinkedIn, or through enriched emails found via DropContact, directly without Waalaxy.

You can send up to 500 emails per day.

Step 1) Accept non-secure applications

Google is full of security features that make SMTP synchronization not very accessible. Unfortunately, it is necessary to disable some of them in order to synchronize.

The first is to allow access to the TLS protocol, by allowing what they call “unsecured applications”.

For that, go to this link.

And enable the setting.

Step 2) Disable Captcha verification

The second essential step is to disable Captcha verification, which prevents Waalaxy from accessing Gmail automatically.

To do this, go to this page and click on “Continue”.

Step 3) Disable dual authentication (if you have it)

It is possible that you have double authentication enabled (which sends you a text message to log in to Google). There is a solution to not disable it and still synchronize your SMTP but we haven’t tested it yet, so at first, I suggest you disable it.

To do that, go to this page and disable the double authentication.

The page should then look like this:
